The process of using a digital signature involves several steps to ensure the authenticity and integrity of a document. Firstly, the initiator sends the document to be signed via email, and the recipient accesses it through a secure link. Next, the hash of the document is sent to a UDIN Portal for identification, where the signer authenticates themselves using their UDIN number. Upon receiving an OTP from the UDIN Authority, the signer verifies the document hash and enters the OTP on the UDIN Portal. Finally, the signer's digital signature is embedded onto the document, providing secure and legally binding authentication. Digital signatures offer a reliable method for signing documents electronically, enhancing security and streamlining the signing process for individuals and organizations alike.
